Thank you for your interest in the process of becoming an active contributing member of the Bizfield Angel Network. Bizfield Angel Network is a global angel network headquartered in BC, Canada. We are proud to host a group of internationally accredited investors. Your involvement in the group as an angel investor may range anywhere from highly active (Deal Lead, Advisor, Board Member, Consultant) to passive (joining in our deals with investment dollars only). Each member decides in which angel deal they participate.

What ARE “Accredited INVESTORS”?
"Accredited Investors" as that term is defined in B.C Securities Act and rules, regulations, policies, and instruments established under the Act.
An accredited investor includes:

financial institutions
-
registered advisers or dealers
-
pension funds
-
corporations, limited partnerships, trusts or estates having net assets of at least $5 million
Individuals are "Accredited Investors" if they meet one of following criteria:
-
individuals who have at least $1 million in financial assets (cash and securities) before taxes. (In calculating an individual's financial assets, any outstanding loans incurred to acquire those assets must be deducted.); or
-
individuals whose net income before taxes exceeds $200,000 (or $300,000 combined income with spouse) in each of the two most recent years and who reasonably expects to exceed that net income in the current year; or
-
individuals who have at least $5 million in net assets
Individual purchasers who qualify as an accredited investor in the last three categories listed above must sign a risk acknowledgement in Form 45-106F9 Form for Individual Accredited Investors.

What is The Typical member profile?
Accredited Investors are invited to become members of the Bizfield Angel Network. We are particularly interested in establishing relationships with investors who seek cross-border deals. Typically, we attract investors from the following groups:

Founders/early-stage leaders who have sold or exited their companies profitably

C-level executives
-
Business owners
-
Investors in real estate, manufacturing, and service companies looking to diversify

Serial tech entrepreneurs in our target segments
What are the membership fees?
Membership fee for 2024 in CAD:
-
Individual angel investors: $600+ GST
-
Family Office membership: $1,000+GST (includes 2 participants)
-
Corporate members: $1,000+GST (includes 2 participants)
This is a global access fee that allows members to attend all regular monthly meetings, all events and all member benefits listed above.
Renewal fees are due 12 months from the date of successful registration. A member has the right to resign from the Bizfield Angel Network at the end of the fee year, if they are unwilling to pay membership fees. Memberships lapse at the end of the 12-month membership year should membership fees not be paid by then.
How much do I need to invest?
Bizfield is a forum for providing investors with information on angel investing and deal flow. Bizfield does not require investors to make an annual minimum investment, as this is at the complete discretion of each member investor. However, each member should be involved in at least one angel investment, or angel fund investment per three years.
